Born James Earl Carter, Jr in Plains Georgia on October 1st, 1924.
Died at his home on December 29th, 2024, at age 100.
He was raised as a poor country boy on a peanut farm
and ended up becoming a POTUS.
He joined the US Naval Academy in 1942
and graduated with a Physics Degree in 1946.
He served as a US Naval Submarine Officer from 1946 - 1953.
When he was a LTJG he saved a Nuclear Power Plant in Canada
from a Meltdown, putting his life on the line.
He left the Navy as a LT, giving up his promotion to LCDR,
to go home and run the Peanut Farm after his dad passed.
He made his farm into a $1 million business.
In the 1960's he entered politics.
He became the Gov. of Georgia from 1971 - 1975.
And became the 39th President from 1977 - 1981.
As the Democratic President he focused on being honest,
he vowed always to tell the truth.
He focused on being a Humanitarian especially with the United Nations.
He created the Department of Energy and was for our environment,
creating programs to clean up America from pollutants.
He installed Solar Panels on the White House, in which Reagan took down.
He enacted the Panama Canal Treaty and the Greenland Treaty.
Most importantly he enacted the Camp David Accord,
which is still in effect today, brokering peace between Israel and Egypt.
His downfall as President, sadly, was the Iran Hostage Crises.
With the interference of the upcoming president, Ronald Reagan,
who secretly brokered a deal with Iran to hold the hostages on the tarmac,
until President Carter left office, giving him the credit for the release.
After he left his presidency in 1981, he gave up a life of politics,
to become a humanitarian for the world - helping to cure disease in Africa,
to create Habitat for Humanity building homes for the needy -
which he himself built over 4000 homes.
He and his wife Rosalynne built homes well unto their late 90's.
His wife Rosalynne was born in 1927 and died in 2023 at age 96.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife Roselynne.
His children are - Jack Carter 1947, James Earl Carter III 1950,
Jeff Carter 1952, Amy Carter 1967
There will never be another great humanitarian like Jimmy Carter.
A man who lived his life by faith in GOD, his Democratic values,
and his principles. A man who lived his life like Jesus lived his.
He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
"The bond of our common humanity is stronger
than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices."
~ Jimmy Carter (1924 - 2024)
