My Two Cents

There are way too many people that bash followers of truth.
I am not going to let them bother me anymore.
I am going to keep seeking for truth and wisdom.
I am going to keep following Jesus and leading by his example.
I have my downfalls and I am not perfect,
but as I continue to read the bible and study
I become a better Christian.

Someone asked me if I am qualified to teach from the bible?
We are all qualified.
The bible says, "When two or more gather in my name, I am in the midst of them."
Matthew 18:20 KJV (1611)

But I am more than qualified:
I have traveled the world, seen many cultures and studied different religions.
I have a Masters in Arts in Sociology with studies in Theology.
I was a Catholic Lay Leader for four years.
I led the Rosary Prayer Service in the Navy.
I was part of the Navy Choir as well, just to throw that in.
So most certainly I am qualified.

Today at the bible study we discussed and affirmed the truth
of the Pagan influence in church rituals.
We went over the path of being saved, we discussed resurrection, and the pardon of our sins.

The path of being saved and what to do when you are saved:

Three Things:
Faith
Good Works
Belief

First we have to have faith in Jehovah (God)
and except Jesus, his son, as our saviour.

Faith:
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11:1 KJV (1611)

We not only have to have faith in him,
but faith without good works is useless.

Good Works:
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 5:16 KJV(1611)

 When we are kind to one another it will spread more kindness.

Like even Confucius said, "A violent man will die a violent death."

Or what the Pope said, "Violence begets violence, war begets war."

Peace-loving are the kind of people we need in the world.

"You must be the change, you wish to see in the world"
Mahatma Gandhi

who also said:
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

All these men believe that good works is important. As do I.

Believe:
"For Jehovah (God) so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For Jehovah (God) sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved."

John 3:16-17 KJV(1611)

To be kind to one another, caring, giving, and loving.
To be forthright
(truthful and honest),
peace-loving, and non-violent.

We then discussed how those who die will be eventually be resurrected on judgement day!

First we discussed Lazarus resurrection:

"Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go."
John 11:39-44 KJV (1611)

Then the call of the day of judgement:

"Because he hath appointed a day,
in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained;
whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."
Acts 17:31 KJV (1611)

Then rise of and the judgement of the dead:

"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming,
in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;
and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
John 5:28-29 KJV (1611)

Those who died are free from sin:

"For he that is dead is freed from sin."
Romans 6:7 KJV (1611)

This was the pardon from sin discussion.

That was pretty much the bible study for today;
and my two cents!
