My son Timothy Micheal Kerofsky has left the nest and is own his own now.
I can hardly believe he is not baby Timmy anymore.
One of the hardest things for me was missing his birth.
I left for a Mediterranean Deployment just two days before.
The happiest moment for me was seeing him for the first time;
upon my return six months later.
As a kid growing up he still liked to play, like kids do.
He would play with his baby brother, Kenny.
They loved to play in the clothes basket!
And go trick or treating; Halloween was always my favorite holiday.
But theirs was Christmas.
Tim and I would always hang out as much as we could together
when I was home from Naval deployments.
We would hang out at the beach.Train in karate and show off our physiques.
There was lots of birthday and family celebrations I missed being deployed
sometimes 10 months out of a year. But others I did get to enjoy.
I missed him walking for the first time, first hair cut, and many birthdays and Christmas's.
But we had many family times together, as well...
And when I was gone at sea, my family would send me pics.
He left this afternoon to go finish his BS in Electrical Engineering
at Western Illinois University.
Then later to go get a Masters in Math; maybe at the University of Illinois.
He moved in with his girlfriend, Rachel. She is working on her art degree.
I am proud of my son and all he has accomplished.
It seems that he has a natural talent to pick things up quickly;
like I showed him a few chords on a guitar
and a week later he was playing like a professional.
I showed him how to do some basic shading with art pencils and what all the pencils met;
like the 4B and 6B used for darker shading, and a 4H with the harder lead is used for
making the outline...
Now he draws and paints much better than I ever could.
My son Tim has a knack for Art, Music, Match, Science, and Engineering.
Now that is a lot of talent. That in itself is much to be proud of.
In school he received many math and science awards, student achievement awards,
he played football in his 9th and 10th grade years, and he graduated with 3 honors.
Since Tim was a child I taught him karate in which he picked up quickly.
He is not much into it anymore, but he received his full black belt at the age of 12.
Then he helped me out teaching his brother and other students at my in-house dojo;
The Kerofsky Family Dojo / Kerofsky School of Mentoring.
In school he was more into parkour and free running.
I am extremely proud of Tim and all he has done!!!
My son Tim's noted achievements and skills include:
1. Citizenship Award from Elementary School.
2. Spartan Award from John Deere Junior High School
3. Several Math and Science Awards
4. Excels in the Arts, Music, Math, Science, and Engineering.
5. Artistic
6. Virtuoso
7. Earned Full Karate Black Belt July 30th, 2006.
8. Three graduation honors in Math, Science, and Engineering Moline High class of 2011
9. AS Degree from Black Hawk College class of 2014
10. Whats next for my son?
I am proud of all that he has accomplished so far. He will excel and go far in this world.
BEST TO YOU TIM!
